Team Leader- Handicap International


Position: Team Leader
Responsible to: Deputy Emergency Coordinator Deputy
Location: Dadaab refugee camps
Closing date: Open


THE POSITION
The Team Leader empowers incentive refugees involved in the emotional and therapeutic support and is responsible for maintaining quality psychosocial support to the individuals and community in the camps. He/she will be part of the MERU (Mobile Emergency Response Unit) providing: registration, monitoring of accessibility of service delivery for those on the outskirts, rehabilitation, information on services, psychosocial support; or of the Vulnerability Desk Team located at the registration and reception points providing: emergency rehabilitation, assessment of needs and registration on a database.

He/she will be responsible for:
1. Managing the implementation of the project’s activities
2. Facilitating access to rehabilitation services for persons with disability
3. Ensuring the social inclusion of people with disabilities (PWDs)
4. Empowering and mentoring incentive refugees workers to deliver and follow up quality physical rehabilitation therapy services and psychosocial support
5. Ensuring regular reporting on project activities
6. Performing any other duties assigned by the Deputy Emergency Coordinator

Qualifications and skills required


Education
 At least a Degree in a relevant field

Experience
 Minimum 2 years working experience in an emergency project or setup
 Working experience with persons with disability and community initiatives is an added-advantage

Skills required
 Communication skills
 People management skills
 Somali language or experience with Somali community is a distinct advantage
